- Kennedy's Press Secretary announces that the President is cancelling the
remainder of his campaign trip because of an "upper respiratory infection".
Under this public guise, Kennedy returns to Washington from Chicago after
being told by Robert Kennedy that he must meet with EX-COMM, to discuss the
discovery of additional missile sites in Cuba.
- Kennedy meets with his advisors and orders a defensive quarantine be
instituted as soon as possible. The full operation is approved and President
Kennedy's television address is scheduled.
