- Another U-2 flight discovers bombers and cruise missile sites along Cuba's
northern shores.
- Kennedy decides solely on instating a naval blockade of Cuba after
being told that the air strike would only result in tens of thousands of
casualties, with no guarantee of destroying the missile sites.
- When confronted with questions regarding rumours of offensive weapons on
Cuba, Kennedy asks the press not to report the story until after he addresses
the American public. Asking them not to deny him the "element of surprise"
