Photo Collection and Analyses

This website is centred around a collection of eleven photographs taken after the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire of 1911 and originally archived online at the New Deal Network Gallery. The photos are divided into groups, according to their content, and each is analysed within four contexts - a general visual analysis, union and labour history, immigrant history, and feminist/gendered history. The collection as a whole is also analysed within these four strands (under Collection); these are are more generalised overviews and less focused on the photos per se.
