you may choose to begin with a study of the materials and sources involved, and develop your own interpretation and meaning in the process. this is essentially what i have endevoured to do as the author of this particular hypertext, and my own journey and conclusions are presented in the form of the essays and biographies that follow. 

as the author of this hypertext i must offer a caveat: to begin with my interpretation of the events and my own analysis of the contexts involved is to read the history involved through a filter of my personal devising. it is important to acknowledge my own background, in the hope that it will provide a way for you, the reader, to discover another way of reading this project, and therefore, an entirely new hypertext. this, i feel, is the nature and aim of hypertext: the proliferation and multiplication of contexts, the interlocking and meshing of pieces of information and myth that create, recreate, redifine, and redress other systems/contexts/hypertexts... read on.
